Oryabinsky Aleksey

Born April 21, 1930 in Leningrad.
In 1958 he graduated from the Kiev Art Institute, and in 1965 – the Academy of Creative Arts Workshops of the USSR in Kiev.

Teachers – K. Trohimenko, S. Grigoriev.
He worked in the field of easel and monumental painting.
Member of the Union of Artists of Ukraine.
Since 1959 he takes part in Republican and All-Union art exhibitions.
In 1962 a personal exhibition of the artist was held in Kiev.
The works of the painter represented in the gallery and private collections in Ukraine and abroad.

Kashshay Anton

1921 – 1992

Artist
Born on February the 24th in 1921 in Zakarpatie region.
Graduated from Uzhgorod State classical school. Teacher – I. Bokshay.
From 1954 – member of the National Union of artists of Ukrainian SSR.
Headed Zakarpatie organization of the National Union of artists.
From 1964 – People’s Artist of Ukrainian SSR.
Participant of regional, All-Ukrainian, All-Union, and international exhibitions and biennials of painting. Artist’s works are in museum and private collections in Ukraine and abroad.

Balyasny Mikhail

Born July 22, 1892 in Kharkov.
From 1909 to 1911 he studied at the Kharkov School of Drawing. Teachers – M. Berkos and M. Fedorov.
From 1927 – participates in national and international art exhibitions.
In 1937 the artist moved to Kiev.
Created a large number of campaign posters and billboards.
He worked in the field of easel painting. Landscape master.
Member of the Union of Artists.

Babenko Ivan

Born October 19, 1935 in Kiev.
He graduated from Kharkov State Art Institute (1966), teachers – N.Gnoevoy, A.Lutsenko;

and Ukrainian Printing Institute. I.Fedorova (Lviv, 1972), teachers – V.Savin, V.Bunov.
Member of the Union of Journalists of Ukraine since 1974.
Member of the National Union of Artists since 1990.

Participates in national, international art exhibitions since 1972.
He works at the Kharkiv State Academy of Municipal Economy, Associate Professor (1991).

Akinshyn Mikhail

1927-1982

Born on February 18, 1927 in the Kursk region (Russia).
He graduated from Tashkent Art School. B. Penkov in 1951. Teacher: S. Red’kin, M. Zhukov and from the Kiev Art Institute in 1962.

Member of the Union of Artists of the USSR.

Later he lived in Kiev, took part in all-Union, republican and regional exhibitions.

In his works some experts perceive the effect of Saryan’s color .

Also, it is impossible not to compare its mountain scenery, the tranquility permeated with philosophical wisdom and chiming canvases with paintings of the great painter – Nicholas Roerich.

Akinshins works are in private collections in Ukraine and abroad.

In 2012, the Zaporizhia Regional Art Museum held an exhibition

“From Voznesenka to Samarkand”, dedicated to the 85th anniversary from the birthday of the master.

Potapenko Andrey

 1925 – 2011
Born on January the 5th, 1925 in Dnepropetrovsk region.
1938 – entered Dnepropetrovsk Art School. Teachers: M.Panin, N.Pogrebniak.
1943 – went to the front.
1945 – continued his education after the war.
Worked as a curator of Dnepropetrovsk Art museum’s fund.
From 1951 – participant of republican, All-Union, and international exhibitions.
Personal exhibitions took place in Dnepropetrovsk, Kiev, Zaporozhye.
From 1964 – member of the Union of artists of USSR.
1984 – Honored artist of Ukrainian SSR.
Artist’s works are in museum and private collections in Ukraine and abroad.

Orloff Alexandr (Orlov Alexandr)

French painter and illustrator, cubist of Russian origin.

His Cubist work began in Prague. Orloff’s painting, however, evolved to a more Symbolist style in the 1930s. After the war, he began to create abstract works in the vein of lyrical abstraction. Friends with Sergey Sharshun (Russian painter and the first Russian Dada poet). He also painted landscapes, still lifes, indoor scenes, and portraits.

Born in 1899 in Radome , Poland (according to other sources – in St. Petersburg).

Since 1924 he lived in Prague, he studied at the Ukrainian Studio of Plastic Arts S.Mako.

He participated in several exhibitions in Czechoslovakia and Poland, and in 1933 held a solo exhibition at the gallery in  Karasek, Prague.

He was a member of society “Scythians” and the Union of Czechoslovak Artists.

He worked as an illustrator in the “Prager Press” – print organ of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Since 1933 he lived in France. He exhibited in the “Tyuleri” salons, “Independent”, “new realities.” He took part in collective exhibitions of Russian artists of the Paris school and others. He held a number of solo exhibitions.

Artist’s works are in National Gallery in Prague; collection of Oscar Ghez – formerly of the Petit Palais, Geneva.

He died in 1979 in Cormeilles-en-Parisis, near Paris.
